Baisse de fréquentation des centres de santé

La psychose induite du Covid-19 semble bouleverser certaines habitudes. Au Bénin une récente enquête menée auprès de certains centres de santé stratégiques a révélé une baisse drastique de la fréquentation de ces lieux de soins. Selon les spécialistes de santé, plusieurs raisons expliquent cette situation dont notamment l’avènement du Covid-19. La crainte d’une éventuelle contamination de cette redoutable pandémie reste pour Y.A, médecin dans un hôpital de zone, la principale raison qui explique la réticence des citoyens vis-à-vis des centres de santé. Interrogés, plusieurs citoyens ont confirmé cette hypothèse. Maurice H., fonctionnaire dans une banque de la place ne le cache pas d’ailleurs : “À l’allure où vont les choses, je préfère rester prudent. Aller à l’hôpital par ces temps qui courent, serait exposer sa vie, les professionnels de santé étant les plus exposés au Covid-19 au regard de leur contact permanent avec les patients”. Kévin H., opérateur économique a carrément opté pour une autre forme de collaboration avec son médecin. “Depuis que le coronavirus dicte sa loi, j’évite tout contact avec mon médecin. Je préfère échanger avec lui par téléphone pour avoir les conseils de santé.” confie-t-il.
Visiblement, le Covid 19 créé une hantise générale au sein de l’humanité et induit une révolution comportementale à divers niveaux. Vivement que les nouvelles habitudes qui se développent çà et là n’engendrent d’autres conséquences fâcheuses sur la santé des populations.
